Meet Mike Embrescia
Mike Embrescia is the Allegheny County Councilman (Republican At-Large) – representing all 1.2 million citizens of Allegheny County.
Mike is also an executive leader, and co-owner at Carnegie Robotics – one of the nation’s earliest, and largest robotics companies. He oversees the company’s growth, partnerships, and helps guide the strategic direction of the renowned company. His leadership helped reshape the company’s sales and growth strategy, fostering new relationships with top commercial OEMs, defense companies, and various groups within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
Prior to Carnegie Robotics, he served in various leadership roles in both technology and commercial real estate. Notably, Mike served as Executive Director of the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) Pittsburgh, one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate trade associations.
In 2013, he founded a web-based tech startup – and knows firsthand the struggles of creating and operating a small business.
In 2020, he served as Campaign Manager for PA State Senator Devlin Robinson, where the team achieved a massive (22 point) come-from-behind victory to unseat an incumbent.
In 2023, Mike was a Republican candidate for Allegheny County Council (South Hills Pittsburgh). Despite losing the election, he instantly pledged support for his opponent, and continued his positive stewardship in the community.
He knows how to lead!
Mike’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious. He always aims to inspire his colleagues and stakeholders – to be bold – and to always do the right thing.
Mike graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2002, and went on to achieve his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Duquesne University in 2008. At Duquesne, he was one of the first graduates of Duquesne’s globally recognized “MBA in Sustainability”.
Mike resides with his wife and two young daughters in Mt. Lebanon PA. He proudly participates in several organizations; including the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (Board of Trustee), the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust (Circles Board), Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, PA Society, and many more.
